The Neighborhood Healers Clinic serves as a mental health service geared to improve the mental health of the Black community of Lexington as well as throughout the commonwealth. Through research, outreach, and treatment we provide Black Lexingtonians with access to culturally affirming, high quality care.

The NHC also serves as a training clinic for Counseling Psychology students at the Masters and PhD level. Each clinician-in training has completed the required coursework necessary to provide psychological services to community members and is under the supervision of a licensed clinician.

Who We Are

Our goal for the Neighborhood Healers Clinic is to help heal the Black community in KY by eliminating barriers that interfere with accessible mental health care and mental health service utilization. Community members communicated their needs to the fellows and the response was to develop the NHC clinic. Giving clients the opportunity to develop a healthy mindset to heal the past, live in the present and GROW into the future.

The Neighborhood Healers Clinic is a mental health service for Black clients and a training clinic for mental health trainees interested in learning culturally affirming, high quality care for the Black community.
